Disney Infinity combines real world toys from your favourite Disney and Pixar movies with a video game, and it hits stores this week.

While the concept sounds very much like the popular Skylanders games, there is quite a difference when you pick up the controller and start playing.    For staters each of the game’s playsets gives you quite an open gameplay experience, unlike Skylanders where players follow a very linear story through gameplay.

The jewel of Disney Infinity is the toy-box play mode where gameplay is only limited by the creativity of the player who can mix and match characters and game elements to create their own interactive experience which can then be share with others.

Disney Infinity is on sale from August 22 for XBox360, Playstation3, Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS consoles.
