The latest version of Apple’s desktop operating system OSX Yosemite is now available as a free update for Mac users and is getting good reviews for it’s improved connectivity with iPhone and iPad, but before you rush to the apple store to download and install it here are a few things to think about.
Firstly will your Mac support it. There’s a good chance the answer is yes providing your Mac isn’t more than 6 or 7 years old. You’ll also need at least 2 gig of RAM, 8gigabytes of hard drive space and be running OSX Snow leopard or later.
Next up make a complete backup of your current system because should anything go wrong during the installation you’ll want the ability to turn back the clock and have everything working as it is right now.
