Many of the latest TVs now have online applications built in, such as Internet video streaming from sites like youtube, news and weather feeds and social networking with twitter and facebook….but the latest feature to pop up on TV is video calling.
The popular Internet chat application Skype is now available on selected new TVs from Panasonic and LG.
Combined with a good broadband Internet service, having access to Skype on your TV means that social chat with friends and family no longer have to be in front of the computer…and it’s cheaper than a phone call with no charges for calls between skype users, although you will need to buy a special camera to use the service on your TV.
