Playstation has combined social networking with your favourite TV show thanks to an optional update to Playstation 3’s Play TV device.
Over 100 thousand Play TV devices have been sold to Playstation 3 owners across Australia, enabling the games and movie console to also be used to watch and record high-definition TV.
The new Play TV live chat feature allows users to set up their own on-screen text chat room while watching their favourite show. They can then invite other Playstation 3 network friends in to discuss the show and it goes to air.
Users can use an on-screen keyboard or a USB or bluetooth keyboard to chat away during the show.
The Play TV live chat software is available now for 12.95 through the Playstation Store though Playstation 3 consoles.
