Telstra has launched a new security feature, Device Security Essentials, to help protect is customers from cyber threats.
The free service, powered by McAfee, offers mobile customers enhanced online protection, including Wi-Fi scanning for insecure networks, safe browsing alerts, and device security checks.
A recent Telstra survey reveals that 86% of Australians are concerned about cybercrime, with many changing how they use their phones. Nearly 6 million now rely mainly on calls and texts, while 44% still use public Wi-Fi, risking exposure of sensitive data.
The new feature aims to combat rising cybercrime and customers can activate the service via the My Telstra app.
