drones-icon-sub2With more Drones taking to the skies, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority has is this week changing some of the rules for operators of small drones that want to fly for profit.

Until now if you’ve wanted to engage in flying a drone for commercial purposes such as aerial photography for a real estate agent you’ve needed a UAV operators certificate or remote pilot licence.

From September 29 the red tape will be cut for operators of drones under 2kg, making it less expensive and faster to get up and flying for cash.
