Some of the largest brands in Technology have teamed up to combat the amount of household waste generated by old computers and televisions.

Members of the Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform have been tasked to boost the recycling rate for televisions and computers from 17 percent in 2010 or 80 percent by 2022.

Some of the IT and TV companies that have already signed on for Australia’s first industry-led national electronic waste collection and recycling program include Toshiba, Panasonic, HP, Canon and more who will work on initiatives like offering a free e-waste drop-off service and collection events across the nation.
