Drones are being put to work in the last place you’d expect to see them.

In a recent trial, drone manufacturer DJI has used drones to clean up Mount Everest. Using FlyCart 30 drones, capable of carrying up to 15 kilograms, DJI successfully transported supplies and removed trash between Everest Base Camp and Camp 1.

These drones navigated the perilous Khumbu Icefall, making the clean-up process safer and more efficient.

By reducing the risks faced by Sherpas and improving the efficiency of waste removal, DJI’s initiative marks a significant step forward in sustainable practices on the world’s highest peak.
This innovative use of drones promises a safer, cleaner future for Everest and other challenging environments.
