Post comments on your Facebook page, read your email, write an email to your friends…or your Boss. These are just a few things that someone could be doing on your computer at work if you’ve stepped away for a moment and left it unprotected.
Of course if you’re lucky the offender many just pull some harmless stunt, but if it’s at the controls of your computer it’s still something that could land you in real trouble.
The solution is to quickly lock your computer any time you’re not in front of it. On a Windows PC simply press the Windows Key and the letter L – this will lock the machine down until you re-enter your password. Mac users can lock their screens with the keyboard shortcut: ‘Control + Shift + Eject’, however you’ll need to make sure you have a password set on your screen saver. See http://osxdaily.com/2011/01/17/lock-screen-mac/
