How long does it take for your computer to boot up? 30seconds, a minute? or maybe you go and make a coffee while you wait.
If your computer is in good health and not too old it should take around 90seconds to start up (hopefully much quicker) but if you don’t feel like running a stopwatch here’s a free program to time it for you.
It’s called BootRacer and every time you start up your computer it records exactly how long it takes from the time you hit the power button until windows is ready to use.
Used in conjunction with a PC optimising program BootRacer will let you know if your computer is getting faster with any changes made to the system.
You can also use another free program called Autoruns which will give you a list of every program that starts up when you book up the computer. Take the unnecessary items off that start up list and you should get an improvement.
