At the Consumer electronics show in Las Vegas this week Intel unveiled their efforts to bring more human-like interaction senses to devices in 2014.
The world-first and smallest Interegrated 3D depth and 2D camera is the start of a new line of products under the name Intel® RealSense™ technology and will help devices see more like the human eye does.
The full HD colour camera can accurately detect finger level movements which will enhance gesture and even emotion with facial recognition, or can simply be used to scan objects in 3 dimentions. Intel sees this new RealSence technology as being , facial features for understanding movement and emotions. It can understand foregrounds and backgrounds to allow control, enhance interactive augmented reality, simply scan items in three dimensions, and more.
Intel sees this new technology as delivering new immersive experiences through video conferencing, gasming, enhanced learning through augmented reality and more. Look out for this technology coming in 2014 and see the video below for some great examples of how it will work.
