As the National Broadband Network continues to the rolled out across Australia, plans are now in place to ensure that even our most remote areas don’t miss out on the next generation of faster Internet access.
Along with new wireless and optical fibre networks, two new satellites are set to launch in 2015 which will assist the NBN reach into remote Northern Territory and Western Australia.
The new satellites and associated technology will be delivered at an approximate cost of 620 million dollars and will delivery initial download speeds of around 12megabits per second for around the same cost as users of fibre optic connections.
You’ll find more information on the national broadband network on the ncnco website.
