Internet search engines and kids can be a dangerous mix, especially if there’s no safe filtering in place but here’s a new search engine you can try out to avoid awkward and inappropriate search results.
It’s called Kiddle. Based on Google search, it’s basically a search engine that is designed to favour websites that are made for children.
Typing any ‘bad words’ into the search bar on Kiddle with result in a suggestion of ‘please try again’ which is a good start and some searches will return a suggestion of a discussion with mum or dad rather than deliver questionable results.
You can try Kiddle out at www.kiddle.co but especially with younger kids I still recommend some sort of supervision is needed.
