Just how much better can noise cancelling headphones get?
Well Sony recently launched the latest in their line-up of industry-leading noise cancelling headphones and yes, they’ve managed to improve on the best.
The WH-1000XM5 headphones can dramatically reduce noise thanks to two processors that control 8 microphones that feed an auto noise cancelling optimiser that adapts to your surroundings. The new distraction free experience is also helped along by improvements in sound clarity and bass reproduction in the 30mm driver unit, plus these new headphones are also 360 reality audio certified (an amazing experience that I recommend to anyone).
The WH-1000XM5 is also useful for taking calls in noisy environments.
Interestingly there’s not a single gram in weight difference between the WH-1000XM5 and the previous model. Additionally, it’s great to see that Sony is embracing environmentally friendly packaging that contains no plastic. The product box is made using recycled and sustainable materials developed specially for Sony. WH-1000XM5 also uses recycled plastic materials from car parts.
