A new independent report by Complete Home Filtration shows that while 58% of us wash our food and half of us actively check food ingredients, nearly six in ten Australians feel completely powerless over what’s flowing through their household taps.
Even more alarming? Seven in ten Aussies are worried about PFAS—often dubbed “forever chemicals”—in their main water supply. Yet, a massive 37% of us still mistakenly believe that boiling tap water removes these contaminants. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t.
From Defense Science to the Front Door
While the statistics highlight a clear information gap, modern home technology is stepping in with a genuine solution.
Perth-based tech firm Complete Home Filtration has officially launched WaterWall™, a first-of-its-kind whole-home filtration system developed with funding support from the Defence Science Centre.
Unlike standard benchtop jug filters that only treat a litre or two of drinking water at a time, WaterWall™ installs directly where the main water supply enters your property. That means every drop of water used for cooking, drinking, showering, and washing veggies is filtered before it ever hits a tap inside the house.
In independent lab testing to NSF/ANSI standards, the four-stage system achieved a 99.95% total PFAS reduction, along with 99.55% chlorine reduction across nearly 150,000 litres of rated capacity. Extreme stress-testing pushed the unit to nearly 300,000 litres—well above average annual household water consumption—while maintaining over 99% PFAS removal efficiency.
