If you’re a Twitter user then you’ll know that ‘tweets’ are still restricted to 140 characters of text…however a recent change to the social network is setting it up to be more like a messaging app.
Twitter recently announced to the developer community that The Direct Messaging character count is being massively upgraded from 140 characters to 10 thousand, which is great for twitter users who may have otherwise switched across to Facebook or email for longer messages.
Now while Twitter has announced the upgrade, they are likely to roll it slowly across the world…so don’t be surprised if your Direct Messages in twitter are still limited to 140 characters for now.
