Many new computers now have a feature called USB 3.0…but what exactly does that mean?

Well, the USB port is commonly used to connect peripheral devices such as Keyboards, Mice and external hard drives to your computer.

The new USB 3.0 feature now being introduced on many new computers simply refers to the evolution of the speed at which data can travel between the computer and connected device, in this case up to 5gigabits per second…which is 10 times faster than more common USB 2.0 devices…so it’s really more relevant if you’re planning to connect an external hard drive.
