If like me you have a drawer full of USB 2 & 3 cables and a bunch of devices that connect to your computer this way then next time you buy a new computer you should check that they are still supported.
The latest USB port standard, USB-C is now starting to appear in computers but the connector is much smaller than USB 2.0 or 3.0 so you’ll need an adapter to support the old connectors.
The good news is that with USB C the connector can be plugged in any way you like, as there is no up or down…and that’s just the start of what’s great. There are also transfer speed benefits. So while it may be painful to transition from the old standard, it will ultimately be better for users. The video below explains it all very nicely.
