March 31 is world backup day. Of course you should be thinking about making a backup of your important data on more than just one day per year but today is timely reminder of just how important it is.
Why backup?
Well your computer hard drive may be fine now but what will become of all your files (digital photos, documents, movies and more) if the drive fails or your computer is stolen? By maintaining a regular copy of these files you will save yourself a lot of street and heartache in years to come.
How do I backup?
You have plenty of options here, but my advice is not just to rely on a single method. For your desktop or notebook computer I recommend using an external hard drive PLUS some sort of cloud storage solution. You can find some great tips on the official World Backup Day website.
What about my smartphone and tablet devices?
Excellent question! These shouldn’t be forgotten as they store all sorts of important data like your list of contacts, messages, photos and more. To help with this topic I spoke with Tim Falinski from Trend Micro Australia – Listen below.
