Yesterday was, among other things, World backup day<\/a>, so if you\u2019ve yet to make copies of your all important and irreplaceable files this is the time to get onto it.<\/p>\n

Using an external hard drive both Windows and Mac operating systems make it very easy to create a simple backup of files and folders selected by you, however there are also online services such as Livedrive and Carbonite that can store the entire contents of your computer \u2018in the cloud\u2019.<\/p>\n

Personally I\u2019m all for cloud data backups<\/a> as they allow your data to be stored securely away from your computer, but having a local backup is also handy for fast access when needed.<\/p>\n
