\"\"More than half of the world\u2019s population is now on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to new data from Hootsuite and We are social, as of last month, 51 percent of the global population now uses social media with YouTube, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger and Tik Tok the most used platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the other key stats from Hootsuite & We Are Social\u2019s Digital 2020 July Global Statshot Report include;
\n\u2022 33% of Australians said they spent more time using social media in recent weeks with social media use in Australia growing by 6% since the same time last year.
\n\u2022 When asked if they planned to keep working from home after the pandemic, 23% of Australians said they would, behind the rest of the world at 27%.
\n\u2022 People spent an average of 6 hours and 42 minutes per day using the internet, 90% of which was via a smartphone.
\n\u2022 62% of Australians are concerned about the misuse of their personal data, while 64% were concerned about misinformation on the internet.
\n\u2022 19% of Australians said they would continue using video conferencing platforms after the pandemic, compared to the global average of 35%.
\n\u2022 Australia saw the largest growth in the download of education apps with +190%, compared to the global average of 90%.
\n\u2022 Zoom was the most used video conferencing platform in June with 300 million meeting participants per day.<\/p>\n
