\"\"That\u2019s the staggering finding from a recent survey by mobile service provider Belong, but the reality is that the lifecycle of a single phone can account for tonnes of carbon emissions – around 80 per cent of those occurring during production.<\/span><\/p>\n

While globally we throw away almost 45 tonnes of tech each year for updated devices, the survey also revealed that 90percent of Australians aged between 16-20 were open to buying a refurbished device.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the research Belong mobile has opened the Second Life online store, selling pre-owned devices to tackle rising technology e-waste and cost of living pressures.<\/span><\/p>\n
