{"id":8432,"date":"2023-09-11T06:34:15","date_gmt":"2023-09-10T20:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.techdaily.com.au\/b2\/?p=8432"},"modified":"2023-09-13T16:37:31","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T06:37:31","slug":"telstra-continues-sms-spam-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/techdaily.com.au\/b2\/telstra-continues-sms-spam-battle\/","title":{"rendered":"Telstra Continues SMS Spam Battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Telstra\u2019s fight against SMS SCAMS continues with almost 50 thousand text messages sent to their scam reporting number since it launched in May.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7226 is the number that Telstra customers can simply forward suspect text messages to but it\u2019s important that you do it the right way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, Telstra reported receiving some messages as screenshots, however as the scam detection system is mostly automated these messages won\u2019t be processed &#8211; you must forward the original text message.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To stop SMS scams from slipping through, Telstra asks for everyone\u2019s help and have included three top tips everyone needs to remember when sending a scam to 7226:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>No screengrabs please!<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a07226 only works with the original SMS \/ MMS so please make sure you forward on the original message.
