The 1970s and 80s was a time of real innovation in video games.
\nBack then, the technology simply wasn’t there to lean on high resolution graphics to wow players.\u00a0 It was all about the gameplay.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Now many of those iconic games from the late 70\u2019s and early 80s continue to live on thanks to the release of the Atari 2600 Plus<\/strong><\/a> games console.<\/p>\n

This slightly smaller (80% of original size) of the original Atari 2600 connects easily to the latest TVs through HDMI, but it also supports the original Atari 2600 and 7800 game cartridges.\u00a0 (Note I’ve been buying up 2nd hand Atari Cartridges for a while – Space Invaders, Frogger, Pole Position, Battlezone and Moon Patrol)<\/span>
\n<\/span>So the compatibility with the original cartridges really great and not something we’ve seen with the previous Atari Flashback<\/em><\/a> series consoles that have bene released over the years that simply had games pre-loaded with no option to add more.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

All the being said, you can get started with some great old-school games without hunting down original Atari cartridges.\u00a0 With the console you get a 10 in 1 cartridge featuring 10 famous games – \u00a0Adventure, Combat, Dodge \u2018em, Haunted House, Maze Craze, Missile Command, Volleyball, Surround, Video Pinball and Yars\u2019 Revenge.
\n<\/span>Additionally there are a few new games you can buy including the new “Mr Run and Jum<\/a>p” and a slightly enhanced version of\u00a0 the 80’s arcade game “Berzerk<\/a>” (My favourite – battling robots) Plus the Atari 4 in 1 Game Cartridge Plus Paddle Pack<\/a> that includes games that will test your eye-hand co-ordination…and patience with games like Breakout (super addictive), Canyon Bomber, Night Driver, Video Olympics.<\/span><\/p>\n
