\"\"Sending mobile text messages while driving isn\u2019t just a dangerous practice, it\u2019s illegal in all states and territories, yet according to Telstra research 45 percent of Australians admit to having done it.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Drive Safe, Phone Safe\u2019 study also revealed that the texting while driving trend is worsening with a 12 percent increase compared to this time last year.<\/p>\n

As a result Telstra has launched a national driver safety eduction program called M8 IT CAN W8 to discourage drivers from texing while behind the wheel.<\/p>\n

The message is simple. Texting while driving is dangerous. If you want to read or write a message, pull over safely first.<\/p>\n
