If you’re looking to create a home cinema experience, this week I’ve been testing out a great option with the XGIMI Aura 2 short throw laser projector.

Firstly, why a laser projector and not a TV?
I’d say mostly for aesthetics if you enjoy  a less cluttered look…or for a smaller room where a large TV would simply take up too much space.   In the case of my review, I removed a 55inch TV and now the area is much less cluttered, plus I get an even bigger screen.

The Aura 2 can project a 100 inch image from just 17.8cm off the wall and it’s bright!  We’re talking 2300 Lumens with a 1 million to 1 contrast ratio.

I chose to plug my Hubbl box into the Aura 2, however the projector does have it’s own user interface that runs on Android so it’s possible to get access to your favourite streaming services directly.

Plus for the full cinema experience, the Aura 2 features Harman/Kardon built-in speakers for a truly immersive audio experience – a much fuller sound than the TV that was in that space previously for sure.

XGIMI’s Aura 2 costs 6399.  Get more into HERE.
