Instagram and Facebook have been named the most invasive apps on your smartphone, according to new research analysing over five thousand applications.
The study by www.itamg.com examined privacy policies across Apple’s App Store, placing Meta’s flagship social networks at the top of the data-harvesting list.
Both platforms collect thirty-two separate types of personal information, linking and tracking sensitive details including your physical address, user ID, and device details.
Meta’s Messenger, Threads, and Business Suite apps also ranked in the top five. Social networking and online shopping apps monitor consumers far more aggressively than you may realise, so the advice is to review privacy permissions carefully.
