More Australians are booking holidays online, paying for them online…and doing it on a mobile device.
According to figures from PayPal Australia, not only are mobile platforms now more popular for booking holidays, but mobile payment is becoming THE way to pay, increasing 16 fold last year compared to 2011.
What this comes down to is 1 out of every 5 people booking travel and paying with PayPal is doing so on a mobile device and it demonstrates that while smartphones are small, they are well equipped to handle spending on big ticket items.
Incidentally previous PayPal research revealed that the most popular line for Australians to transact online is on Thursdays between 10 and 11pm.
I”ll be chatting to PayPal later this week – stay tuned!
