An Uninterruptible Power Supply (or UPS) is an essential piece of tech to help protect you from power surges and outages but DJI has just launched a new portable power solution that does a lot more than the average UPS. Note my currently USP only gives me 15minutes of battery backup, just enough time to safely close everything down.
The DJI Power 1000 mini is a compact power station with 1kWh capacity in a portable form factor.
As a home backup battery the Power 1000 mini could keep your fridge running for up to 7 hours. Out camping it could charge your phone 54 times and has a built in 400 watt car changer. It’s also built to last, promising 80% capacity after 4000 cycles.

When I tested it in UPS mode connected to my main PC and Monitor (and using the DJI Home app to check the status) I was pleased to see that I could potentially power the PC setup for another 5 hours. Perfect in the case of a short term power blackout.
However if you are planning on going off-grid the DJI Power 1000 Mini is also very capable. When used with portable solar panels (which you can bundle in) you can charge up the battery from anywhere. On the days I tested the 100w portable solar panel it was quite cloudy so I was still able to draw about 13watts for charging so in full sun you could expect a much faster charge.
With two AC power points, 2 x 12w USB-A ,1 x 100w USB-C port AND 1x100w USB-C retractable cable, you can pretty much run anything off this portable power plant.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this portable power supply. Weighing 11kg, it’s still light enough to move around with but packs to much more power than you’d expect. Useful power at home or off-grid.
DJI’s Power 100 Mini is priced from just under 800 dollars but check out the bundles that will suit your intended usage.
