Australian pet parents have a new set of smart tools to keep track of their four-legged family members.
Family safety and location platform Life360 has officially expanded its pet tech line-up, rolling out a suite of in-app Care and Connection features alongside a new budget-friendly physical Life360 Pet Tag.
With more than eight million pets already registered on the platform globally, the update aims to take the guesswork out of daily pet care routines while making it easier to track activity and recover lost animals.
What’s New in Life 360 for your Dog or Cat?
1. Shared Care Routines (Dogs & Cats)
One of the most practical additions for busy households is the Care feature. Family members inside a Life360 Circle can now set up recurring schedules and log everyday tasks with a single tap, covering:
- Meals and feeding times (putting an end to pets scoring sneaky second dinners)
- Daily walks and exercise
- Medication schedules
- Litter tray cleaning
Once a task is marked complete, it updates across the entire Circle in real time so everyone stays on the same page.
2. Connection Features & ‘Zoomies Alerts’ (Dogs)
For dog owners, Life360 is leaning into everyday moments with automated activity insights:
- Zoomies Alerts: Notifies family members when their dog experiences a sudden burst of playful energy.
- Weekly Roundup: Summarises weekly walking distances, activity levels, and tallies which family member logged the most care tasks over the week.
(Note: Advanced connection tracking features require an active Life360 Pet GPS tracker.)
3. Life360 Pet Tag ($12.99 AUD)
For an affordable, non-electronic safety layer, Life360 has launched a durable stainless-steel collar tag.
Each tag features a scannable QR code. If a pet goes missing, whoever finds them can scan the code with any smartphone camera—no app download required—to call, message, or share the pet’s location with multiple family members at once. Contact information linked to the tag can be updated instantly from within the Life360 app.
More Accessible GPS Tracking: The Silver Bundle
Alongside the software updates, Life360 is lowering the barrier to entry for its full GPS tracking experience (which works great by the way. I have one on my Dog ‘Elly’.
Previously limited to higher-tier Gold and Platinum memberships, the company has introduced a new Silver Bundle. This package pairs the dedicated Life360 Pet GPS tracker—which features live geofencing, escape alerts, and access to Life360’s global Pet Finder Network—with a Silver tier subscription.
